You don’t necessarily hear smaller developers come out and say that they’ve canceled their independent game. In most cases, months of silence are all we get. Zombie Cow Studios, however, has done the right thing, even if it was painful to go through.

Revenge of the Balloon-Headed Mexican, the third installment in the studio’s Ben and Dan point-and-click adventure series, has been scrapped.

“It felt like we were going over old, worn ground,” writes Zombie Cow. “It felt a little like makingRevenge of the Balloon-Headed Mexicanwould only wind up diminishing the impact and memory of the first two games, and no one wants that. Least of all us. So, for now at least, it’ll never be released.”

There’s no telling what’s going to be next in the pipeline, but “whatever it is will becompletely brillo.”
