One singer-songwriter who is topping the charts gave a nod toOnyx Stormin a new song that fits the romantasy series painfully well. Despite the fact thatOnyx Stormdebuted in January 2025, the third installment ofThe Empyrean Serieshas continued to be heavily discussed across book platforms, likely due to the lack ofupdates onThe Empyrean Seriesbook 4and the several new story threads the novel revealed. That lack of new content, though, has not stopped audiences from creating their own works around the series, using a variety of mediums and tools to do so.

These amazing works of fanart, fanfiction, and reenactments truly highlight the best parts ofOnyx Stormand the hopes that fans have for the series, such as areturn toFourth Wing’s romance roots. Of course, many of these fans find inspiration outside of Rebecca Yarros' books, using music and other stories to amplify the themes and moments in the series. One recording artist in particular has become a favorite in BookTok’sFourth Wingcommunity, with his new song prompting him to tip his hat to the audience: Alex Warren.

Alex Warren Nodded To Onyx Storm With His New Song “Eternity”

Alex Warren Posted On His TikTok About His Excitement For BookTok To Find The Song

Alex Warren gave a nod toOnyx Stormand the BookTok fandom at large through his new song “Eternity”, adding to his already considerable popularity in fandom spaces.Warren released a snippet of “Eternity” in June 2025, announcing through his TikTok that the song would be on his latest album, which is set to release on July 18th. However, the caption of the post was what got BookTok audiences talking, especially considering that this is not the first time one of Warren’s songs has been associated with Yarros' romantasy series.

The caption reads"ur telling me he left her with her memory wiped and a ring…",directly referencing the ending ofOnyx Storm, resulting in quite a few excited comments and amplifying the song’s popularity. This reference, combined with the fact thatWarren’s song “Ordinary” was used forFourth Wingedits and fanart across platforms upon its release, truly showcases both Warren’s love for BookTok and the fandom that has celebrated his music. That celebration, though, is largely due to the song perfectly mirroring the painful events of the book, allowing fans to take multiple directions with its meaning.

Fourth Wing Fans Are Already Adopting “Eternity” Because It’s A Perfect Fit

“Eternity” Can Easily Fit Xaden Or Violet’s Mindset At The End Of Onyx Storm

Fans ofFourth Winghave, much like Warren’s last viral song, adopted “Eternity” since it fits the events ofOnyx Stormand previous books so well. The snippet of Warren’s song details the longing and desire of someone to join the one they love after they have left them behind in some way, forcing them to go on without them. That messaging, to many audiences, myself included, perfectly fits Xaden’s mindset duringOnyx Storm’s endingas he is forced to become an asim, abandoning Violet as well as his “paradise” of Aretia.

That being said, some fans have used it to describe Violet’s mindset from the end ofOnyx Storm, focusing more on the wishing aspect of the lyrics. Violet was left abandoned by Xaden with no memory and a new responsibility as Duchess of Aretia, with fans using the song to show how she is relying on her hope that she would see him again in a “paradise” that she is now set to do anything to get. Both interpretations match the painful and powerful beats ofOnyx Storm, making it the perfect thing to listen to as the series goes on.
