After weeks of intense Counter-Strike 2 action, the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 comes to a close with Team Vitality versus The MongolZ.
Two teams were left standing at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. Team Vitality and The MongolZ had braved almost three weeks of Counter-Strike 2 and reached the grand finals, where they would make their final stand. One last best-of-three series was all that remained for both teams.
Vitality were no strangers to grand finals in 2025. With multiple wins already under their belt for the year, Vitality were looking to add another to their tally. While their insane win streak was ended barely a week ago, the team remained the absolute favourites to take the win. However, the underdog story was what everyone was talking about. The MongolZ were on an amazing run through the Major. Having already far surpassed anyone’s expectations, MongolZ were looking to make history.

Team Vitality ruins The MongolZ hopes of a legendary victory
While we all expected dominance from Vitality, that was not the case on Mirage. MongolZ map pick saw the team absolutely dominating, giving everyone a hint at a huge upset. Having quickly taken the lead before the switch, the Mongolian squad was perfect on their Counter-Terrorist play. 6 straight rounds without response were what gave them the first map victory, as they were primed to cause one of the biggest upsets in CS2.

Dust 2 would be where Vitality finally began to show their power. With their map choice, Vitality went out and played as we expected them to do from the start. MongolZ had barely any chances to stop their opponents, as the series was tied up at 1-1, with a dominant performance from Vitality on Map 2.
A trap for MOUZ! Vitality dominate the Austin Major
Fans of Team Vitality are ready to celebrate the Major victory. Despite having some experience of upsetting big opponents, MOUZ couldn’t overcome their demons.

For the final stand from both teams at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, Inferno was the map choice. One last game to decide the champion of the Major. Unfortunately for MongolZ, their swan song journey had to end somewhere. Having managed to take a single game off the strongest team in CS2, MongolZ could not convert another. Although they managed to take a few more rounds, it was not enough to make a comeback.
Results
Eventually, with the wind in their sails, Vitality secured the win. This makes it their eighth victory in 2025. Sadly, the MongolZ would have to settle for second place after a highly admirable display of talent throughout the Major.
With that, the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 comes to an end, with Team Vitality crowned as champions. Both Vitality and MongolZ will be back in action in a few weeks at the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Cologne 2025 and the Esports World Cup 2025. For now, the dominant legacy of Vitality continues.
