Paradox is off to a fantastic start withStellaris. The grand strategy sci-fi game drew in 68,000 simultaneous players on its first day, surpassingCities: Skylines, the company’s previous record-holder for most concurrent players at launch. Considering their respective genres, that’s wild.

“Less than 24 hours after release,Stellarishas sold over 200,000 units, breaking the revenue record for any of Paradox Interactive’s previous titles during the same time period. Those of you stuck in this timesink are going to remain there for a while to come. “We are listening very keenly to all the feedback we are getting and look forward to many years of continued expansions and improvements to the game,” said director Henrik Fåhraeus. “Let’s make space great again, together!”
