Despite a rough start with thatfirst trailer, theSonic the Hedgehogmovie went on to garner apretty decent showing. In a press release today, Paramount says the first adaptation has earned nearly $320 million in the worldwide box office.
A third movie is one thing, but a live-action series is pretty interesting. Long-timeSonicfans know that the hedgehog hashad several TV adaptations already, but all animated. With this one being live-action, it seems like Paramount is building up a bit of a Sonic universe.

The next game for the Blue Blur,Sonic Frontiers, is set for late 2022. As shown off atlast year’s Game Awards,Frontiersis an open-world take on the speedster’s exploits, coming to current and next-gen consoles.
It’s been quite a big year so far for Sega’s speedy star, between what’s coming out now and even more in development. Hopefully we see more of theSoniccrew hit the silver screen in future adaptations. Between characters like Amy and Shadow, there’s still a lot of runway for Sonic stories to cover.
