When does the Pokémon GO Bug Out event start?

The event starts on Friday, April 12 at 10 a.m. local time and ends on April 17 at 8 p.m. local time. This will be the first But Out event in 2024.

Unique Pokémon encounters in the wild

Players will get the chance to come across several Bug-type Pokémon such as Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Dwebble, Kricketot and Sewaddle. A few lucky trainers may also come across encounters with shiny Nincada or Cutiefly. They can also encounter shiny versions of all the aforementioned Pokémon except Sewaddle, who still doesn’t have a shiny version in the game. Additionally, completing event-themed collection challenges by catching these Pokémon will earn mega energy for specific Bug-type Pokémon.

Unique raid bosses during the Pokémon GO Bug Out event

As expected, the raid boss pool during the Bug Out event includes mostly Bug-type Pokémon with the opportunity to defeat and catch Tapu Bulu as the legendary boss fight. There’s an opportunity to catch a shiny one, too!

Completing an in-person raid while teamed up with at least one other trainer will spawn more wild Pokémon around the gym for 15 minutes.
