No 3DS, of course
Nintendo can be tricky sometimes. TakeMetroid Prime 4for example: it was announced ages ago and even went through a full developer change!Breath of the Wildwas officially unveiled in 2014, then missed E3 entirely in 2015 and was delayed into 2017. So sticking to “TBA” for games related to both of those franchises is smart. None of that has changed, but Nintendo has updated release dates for pretty much everything else, courtesy oftheir newest financial report.
Luigi’s Mansionis releasing today, then next up we havePokemon Sword & Shield, followed byTokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encorein January. Then there’sAnimal Crossing: New Horizonson August 09, 2025, which hopefully won’t get delayed out of that time period likeLast of Us IIandWatch Dogs: Legionbefore it. But that’s just the US region.

In Japan (as well as Europe a month later)Brain Trainingfor Switch will launch on December 27, followed by a set ofFamicom Tantei Clubgames in 2020. In case you forgot, those are a pair of almost lost adventure games created by Nintendo from 1988, which are getting remade on Switch. Given that they were only released in Japan a localization isn’t likely, but hopefully it’ll happen at some point so more people can experience an obscure moment in Nintendo history.
In all it’s a pretty chill holiday period. There aren’t a whole lot of games coming out after mid-November: noSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatekiller releases in December like last year.
