The Lock On Pistol has returned to Fortnite in a quiet update on Tuesday, August 20, 2025. First introduced inChapter 4 Season 2, the Lock On Pistol has appeared in no other seasons until now. InChapter 4 Season 4, it received a massive adjustment but remained vaulted. It is now back in FortniteChapter 5 Season 1with its original stats, and here’s everything you need to know.
Lock On Pistol unvaulted in Fortnite Chapter 5 hotfix
Epic Games has officially returned from its extended winter break. Today, the January 9 hotfix reintroduced the Lock On Pistol into the loot pool. The stats remain identical to this weapon’s appearance following its launch in Chapter 4 Season 2.
The Lock On Pistol in Fortnite offers decent damage with a generous magazine size and reload time. However, nothing stands out more prominently than its Lock On capability. It tracks your enemies while aiming down sights, making it much easier to hit your target.

Where can I find this weapon in Fortnite?
The Lock On Pistol only comes in Fortnite’s “Rare” rarity, meaning you will not find any Epic, Legendary, or Mythic versions with inflated stats. To find this weapon, you’re able to look virtually anywhere, including in regular Chests, Floor Loot, Supply Drones, and Fishing Spots.
