Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Guides

The simple dice game actually has more rules than you think.

From the very beginning of the story in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’re introduced to the game of Dice. Fans of the original game will already know how frustrating this simple game can be, but the sequel makes it a much larger part of the overall world. You can play Dice with random strangers or your comrades at just about every interval in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, so it’s best you fully understand how to play it.

More than that, though, you want to be able to win Dice consistently, as it helps out with certain quests and persuasion situations. Below, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about Dice in Kingdom Come 2.

How Dice works in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

The first time you may interact with the Dice game is when you and Lord Capon settle down by a pond outside of Trosky. Your dog Mutt is barking for food at a man named Oates but Oates doesn’t want to give you or your dog any of his grub. Fortunately, Oates offers you a way to feed Mutt, but it involves winning back a ring from another man at camp. As you might expect, you can win the ring back by playing Dice with him. This is a part of the quest “Easy Riders” inKingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

If you decide to play Dice here, you’ll be given a tutorial on how the game works, but it can be quite overwhelming and difficult to understand. So, allow me to break it all down for you:

That’s a very brief overview of how Dice works in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. However, you likely already understood the basics. Where Dics gets tricky is how the scoring works. Below, you can find a cheat sheet for all the ways you can earn points with dice rolls.

Basically, when you roll, you’re looking for one of a few things:

Strategy to win Dice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

The best overall strategy to score points and win Dice is to always try to score conservatively. If you roll once and you score three 4s, for example, you earn 400 points for the round. While you can try to press your luck and roll your remaining three dice, it’s more likely than not that you’ll bust and end up with nothing.

You bust a turn when you roll and there are no scoring dice available. So if you keep three 4s but then roll two 3s and one 6, you can’t score anything from that, so your turn is over and you lose what you already scored in the round.

To avoid busting too often, try to at least score 200-300 points every round. That puts you in the driver’s seat a majority of the time, as your opponent often tries to push their luck and winds up busting more often than not. Of course, there are times when it makes sense to push your luck. If you get behind in a game and need to score major points, you’ll want to keep trying to score with whatever dice you have left.

That pretty much sums up the game of Dice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 in a nutshell. The game mostly comes down to luck, so don’t get too frustrated with the outcomes.
