This LEGO Fortnite matchmaking error occurs after you try to enter a game. When the matchmaking queue begins, LEGO Fortnite tells you that the server is finding a match and gives you an estimated queue time.
However, after waiting for a bit, you’ll get the matchmaking error. The message reads: “Matchmaking Error #1: Something’s up with the matchmaking, so we’re turning it off and back on again. Hang tight! It’ll be back up shortly. (service.shutting_down_2).”
