Even before its release, Ghost of Yōtei has already been confirmed to receive a free multiplayer mode as post-launch DLC.
For fans, this was easily one of the standout announcements of 2026. Developer Sucker Punch confirmed that its highly anticipated sequel, Ghost of Yōtei, will receive a co-op-focused Legends mode. It is set to arrive as free post-launch DLC next year.

Even ahead of its release, fans are already being treated to exciting updates. Ghost of Yōtei is set for a global launch on June 01, 2025.First announced in September 2024, the game continues to generate buzz, with plenty more news still to come.
At Gamescom 2025, host Geoff Keighley teased that Ghost of Yōtei’s take on Legends mode will feature a “fantastical supernatural story and survival missions.” While details were scarce during the official livestream, it’s safe to assume the mode will draw inspiration from its predecessor,Ghost of Tsushima.

Months after its release, thegame announced a co-op mode, introducing a combat-focused co-op spin on the solo experience that saw 2-4 players, as one of four available classes, completing missions inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology.
So far, there is still not much known about this new co-op mode for Ghost of Yōtei. Nevertheless, the game aims to be one of the biggest releases of 2025. After Ghost of Tsushima’s success, we can’t wait to see how this sequel will perform.

Set in 1603, Ghost of Yōtei embraces a powerful theme of vengeance. This time, players step into the role of Atsu, a fierce female warrior embarking on a perilous journey across Hokkaido, Japan. This story happens three decades after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. The released trailer underscores this central theme, offering a first glimpse into Atsu’s mission and the path that lies ahead.
