Gen.G vs LOUD takes place on the first day of the Master Madrid Swiss Stage, with both teams hoping to start hot.
Masters Madrid is underwaywith two great matches, including Gen.G vs LOUD. They’ll finish off Day 1, in what will hopefully be a banger series. Of course, we’ve got the scores and highlights for those of you who might have missed it live.

Gen.G vs LOUD is an interesting matchup at Masters Madrid.We spoke to Lakiaof the VCT Pacific Kickoff Champions, who expressed that if there’s one player he’s afraid of facing at this event, it is LOUD’s Less.
Earlier, following the VCT Americas Kickoff Grand Final,we interviewed qck. In a similar tone, he mentioned that Gen.G is a team at Masters Madrid he views as a threat. And that was before they even announced this series.
Clearly both teams have respect for each other and will not take the other one lightly. Gen.G vs LOUD should be a compelling series to end Masters Madrid Day 1. Only one team can move on without a blemish, however.

Map 1: Icebox
Icebox started with a quick three rounds from LOUD. They immediately put the pressure on Gen.G and began to extend their early lead. A fourth came easily, but the Pacific league team looked to turn the tide witha ferocious Thrifty round win. That put them in a favorable position to net some consecutive rounds.
A 3K by qck wasshut down by a 3K from Meteor, giving Gen.G their fourth round and a tie. One round later and Gen.G snagged the lead from LOUD. LOUD tied it back up right away, however. And what could have been a terrible start for Gen.G on map one is at least an even score at halftime.
Gen.G emulated LOUD’s opening rounds, taking two fast ones to push into the lead.A patient play by t3xturecontinued their run towards victory. After Gen.G reached double digits, LOUD finally put up their first round of the second half. Somebeautifully placed shots by tuyzin the post-plant got LOUD another round, putting them within two.
An aggressive play on defense by Gen.G, which included a Judge of course, got them to 11, but LOUD was not finished. They battled back with big brains calls from Saadhak, buta defuse with .26 leftgot Gen.G to match point. Less thenstepped up with a huge 4K, but wasn’t prepared for Karon to stick the defuse in the final round and take it for Gen.G.
Map 2: Breeze
The second map of Gen.G vs LOUD started off similar to the first one. LOUD had zero issue getting ahead. The trend broke, however, with Gen.G putting up a round in the third. That didn’t last long for them, astuyz stopped Gen.G in their tracksto maintain LOUD’s lead.
A battle in Halls and Mid ended with two players alive on each team. Munchkin, on the Viper mind you, picked up an Operator to help finish LOUD off for their second round. It did not give them any momentum, though. The Brazilian team strolled into halftime with a solid lead, despite Gen.G taking the final before the break.
The second half pistol round was all LOUD, getting them to double digits. Some fight remained in Gen.G, however, as theygot the Spike down on Band disrupted the flow of LOUD’s economy. The hot streak that avoided Gen.G earlier was finally here, but it was a bit too late.
An Ace by t3xturewas part of their attempt to claw back into it, but the round difference was just too much to overcome. LOUD worked their magic to cut Gen.G’s comeback short. Eight was all they’d get, and off to map three.
Map 3: Ascent
The start of Ascent saw Gen.G take the first two rounds. A magnificentclutch by Karonstarted them off on the right foot. LOUD retaliated to prevent the bonus round conversion, and it was just a bit back and forth in the early stages. Eventually, Gen.G began to pull ahead.
A3K from t3xturewas an exclamation mark on the first half of the map. Gen.G took everything LOUD had to throw at them, and threw it right back in their face. This gave the Pacific Kickoff winners a nice 9:3 advantage heading into halftime.
The second half started and looked promising for LOUD. They took a couple, but Gen.G held their ground. Double digits were in reach for Gen.G, and they didn’t stop there. Adamaging 4K by t3xturetook them to 11 and would prove to be the nail in the coffin.
Another multikill round came for Gen.G to get them to map, and series, point. Meteor made it look easy bystomping out four members of LOUD. An extremely aggressive defensive plan on the final round secured it for Gen.G, and they bested LOUD to start Masters Madrid.
