Fortniteplayers can now download and install update v.20.40, adding more content to the ever-growing battle royale game. This week, two of the biggest changes come in the form of unvaulted weapons: the Sideways Rifle and the Sideways Minigun. These two weapons made an appearance in a previousFortniteseason, and players had tocollect Cube Monster Partsto upgrade them to their full potential.
However, since the monster parts are gone for Chapter 3, Season 2, players can simply take either weapon to one of the manyUpgrade Benches across the island. As for where these unvaulted weapons can be found, this guide will helpFortniteplayers out.

Where to Find Sideways Rifle and Sideways Minigun
Unfortunately, there is not one specific location where players can go to find the Sideways Rifle or the Sideways Minigun. They can only be obtained bysearching treasure chests or on the ground as floor loot.
The best way to get them fast is to go to thepoints of interest with lots of chests, like Tilted Towers, Command Cavern,The Daily Bugle, or Chonker’s Speedway. While these areas will have plenty of loot, beware of other players trying to do the same thing.
The Sideways Rifle and Sideways Minigun will go back into the vault onceSideways Showdown Week ends on July 28, 2025.
Sideways Showdown Quests
While Sideways Showdown week is going on,Fortniteplayers can earn XP by completing a few quests involving theunvaulted weapons. They’re pretty self-explanatory, but here’s a rundown:
Again, players should search at popular points of interest to find the minigun and the rifle, and then attempt to use them on some opponents. To overheat the Sideways Gun, just keep shooting it until it stops. And players can find an Upgrade Bench at most points of interest. Just be prepared to spend some Gold bars for the enhancements.
