Discover all the villagers’ favorite gifts in the game!

Become everyone’s favorite person in Stardew Valley’s Pelican Town while giving them their favorite gifts.

Building healthy relationships with your fellow townspeople comes with a bunch of benefits in Stardew Valley, such as triggering unique events and gaining access to their rooms, which is sometimes required to complete specific quests, like when you have to find the Mayor’s purple shorts.

To make buddies with a Pelican Town resident, you need to fill their friendship meter, which is represented by 10 hearts. Every heart is equivalent to 250 points, so you have a total of 2500 points to grind if you want to become chums with a person.

Favorite gifts of non-human village dwellers

Giving any non-favorite or non-liked item to any villager might run the risk of decreasing your Friendship points with them.

Additionally, giving a villager their favorite gift increases your Friendship points with them by 80 for loved items and 45 for liked items. You can only gift everyone in the town once per day, and if you manage to give someone their favorite gift on their birthday, the Friendship points you’ll receive will get an 8x multiplier.

Universal Likes

Universal Likes have a similar effect to Universal Loves but grant fewer Friendship points — 45 to be exact:

Maintaining relationships

ensure to continue gifting villagers regularly until their friendship meter reaches 10 hearts, as friendship points gradually decrease if the meter isn’t maxed out.

Animal lovers, rejoice!

The friendship meters of eligible bachelors and bachelorettes stop decreasing by the time they get eight hearts, and if you have a spouse, you’re in for some big responsibility since you need to always keep their friendship meter high.
