We’ll soon know a lot of Duty: Black Ops 7, with a major reveal scheduled for August 19. We know relatively little about the next entry in theBlack Opssubseries at this early stage:revealed at Summer Game Fest, it’s set to feature a story starring beloved returning protagonist David Mason, with a futuristic settingthat’ll likely see players using all manner of science-fiction gadgets to survive.

Now, though,Treyarch, Raven Software, and Activision are set to give us another look atBlack Ops 7. While it’s not yet clear what this reveal will include, it has the potential to be a big one - and it’s coming as soon as next month.

What To Expect From Black Ops 7 Reveal On August 19

Gameplay, New Modes, & More

First off, I’m almost certainwe’ll get a much closer look at gameplayduringBlack Ops 7’s Gamescom reveal. I’m expecting a sort of vertical slice trailer, showing a variety of different weapons, maps, and game modes in a rapid-fire edit. Many players are also expecting an update on howBO7developsBO6’s movement system.

There’s a good chance the new trailer will also include a look attwo new modes forBlack Ops 7: Overload and Skirmish. These wereallegedly leaked through theCall of Dutyapp last month. Overload is something like a reverse capture the flag, in which you’ll have to grab an EMP and carry it behind enemy lines to score points. Skirmish is a 20v20 mode, with variable and constantly changing objectives.

I think it’s reasonable toexpect another story update, too. While the initial trailer really just sets up the barebones outline of the plot, the upcomingBO7trailer will likely include a much deeper dive into what’s going on with David Mason, and what brings him back for the latest installment.

Really, though, we have no way of knowing what’s in store for Gamescom. We’ll have to wait for the big night - andCall of Duty: Black Ops 7’s big reveal - to find out what’s what with the next installment.
