Wraith is THE single most iconic legend in the entire game. She was the poster girl for the games early seasons.
Nowadays, she is popular but her crown has undoubtedly slipped. She used to have a tiny hitbox, and an instant phase ability that was the freest of get out of jail cards.
Don’t count her out though. Wraith is still a powerful and aggressive legend, simple to learn but hard to master to her full ability. Semi-recent buffs to her Portal have brought her in line with the ever-growing size of Apex Legends maps.

Apex Legends Wraith guide: What makes Wraith a good legend?
Wraith is all about aggression and repositioning. There is still no better legend for frontlining, gathering information and getting back to your team safely.
Weaknesses:
Wraith Tactical:
Into the Void, often known as Phase, has taken some nerfs over the years but is still a strong ability. What is also powerful is simply knowing you have this ability in your pocket. It frees Wraith up to be more aggressive and take risks. Don’t push things too far though!
Tips for Into the Void:
Tip #1:
The animation means you’re able to’t really enter your Phase while you are in an enemies face. It’s best to escape for cover or cut line of sight, then use your Into the Void. This will let you get it off safely, and allow you to escape a bit further or possibly not be noticed as you leave.
Tip #2:
You won’t take zone damage while you are using Into the Void. This can help you survive some tricky situations when you are forced to play outside of the ring. Using Into the Void as you rotate back to escape the zone will save you heals, especially helpful if you don’t have many!
Tip #3:
There is a delay when you exit your Into the Void phase before you can do anything else. That means it’s important to finish your time in phase in a safe location where possible, or at least try and keep moving! Phasing right into someone’s face and hoping to surprise them with a quick one clip won’t work.
Wraith Passive:
Wraith’s Voices from the Void passive is designed to be an early warning system. If we’re being honest, it’s not really very useful. There are times you see your teammate get their head exploded by a Kraber and Wraith says “there might be a sniper in the area”. Yeah, thanks Wraith.
Tips for Voices from the Void:
It’s always worth using the information when it can be useful. It can come in handy when you’re being ratted on for instance, the line that lets you someone is aiming at you could give away that enemies are lining up a shot on you.
Truthfully, there isn’t much to say about this ability however.
Wraith Ultimate:
Wraith’s Dimensional Rift is a strong tool for repositioning, escaping and quickly moving around the map. It boosts Wraith’s Tactical ability, allowing her to bypass tricky situations when combining the two abilities together.
Tips for Dimensional Rift:
It can be tempting to use this ability to escape danger. Wraith gets a substantial speed boost, and a reduced activation time on her taticla when using Dimensional Rift - but be warned. If you are a solo player hoping to escape, this ability is a portal. Your enemies can just sit at the start of it, and instantly catch up with you when you place the other end.
If you are on a team, and trying to set a portal away from danger, be aware that this will leave your teammates as a duo (or a solo) while you make the portal itself. Smart enemies may hear you start the portal, and choose to deathball your teammates as a result.
It’s not just alive players that can take a portal. Knocked players can portal too. This can make portalling a downed teammate to a safer position a great way to reset and revive. You can always take the portal back after healing to finish a fight or grab some loot if needed.
Kidnapping is probably one of the most satisfying things to do with a Dimensional Rift. It’s hard, and often not smart, but that doesn’t stop anyone! Portal into an enemy, pop the portal on top of them and they will be transported back. Ideally some Wattson Fences, Caustic Barrels or keen teammates will be sat at the other end. ensure to start your Rift mid jump or high up so they can’t escape back through!

Apex Legends Wraith guide: What legends work well with Wraith?
Wraith is a very flexible legend, and works well with either playstyle. However, some would say she is more suited to a passive playstyle than an aggressive one, because of other legends offering more aggressive damage dealing abilities.
Aggressive Playstyles:
All three legends work well with Wraith, simply because of the power they provide in fights. Conduit’s Radiant Transfer can help Wraith feel capable of taking even more risks, and Bangalore can create safe spaces with her Smoke Launcher.
Passive Playstyles:
Wattson pairs really well with Wraith players who want to try Kidnaps. You can run the fences through her portal, meaning anyone who comes through it will be instantly stunned. This can also prevent you being chased through portals in general. Wraith’s portal can also be a great way to follow up on damage from Crypto’s EMP.
It’s Drone time!
Wraith might not be the super broken, invincible fighter that she was in the past. But she is still a great mix of fun and useful abilities that can help you make some great plays in your next games.
