Aschmann’ssiteis a veritable font of information on English idiom . There ’s theDialect Information Chartwhich separate you which vowel sound sounds can be chance in what idiom and each accent ’s “ singular features . ” Like Mat - Su Valley Alaska , which has the singular feature of being “ powerfully like North Central ” but with some “ principal Alaska dialect ” mixed in . Aschmann base his mapping and dialect info on theAtlas of North American English , his own research created the name of some of the dialects and made readjustment to their delimitation . This is great because a ) reading a verbal description is n’t nearly as good as try it and b ) it ’s not a random sample , but the one he ’s picked as the honorable .
