Will there be an American Primeval Season 2? Here is what the show’s director had to say about it.
American Primeval is a Netflix series set in the unforgiving American West of 1857. The show follows a mother and son on the run from their past as they fight for survival, form a found family, and face off against a brutal frontier. Created by Mark L. American Primeval Season 2 release date
According to director Berg, it’s unlikely that there will be an American Primeval Season 2. In an interview, he explained that one of the challenges is the significant time jump needed due to actor Preston’s growth during the production pause caused by the strike. However, while continuing the story of Sara, Devin, and Two Moons may not be possible, Berg did describe the idea of exploring the past as “really interesting.”
“Well, one of the challenges there is that Shawnee and Preston, the actors that played Two Moons and Devin, we had enough trouble because the strike got us,” Berg toldThe Hollywood Reporter.
He continued, “We had to shut down for five months, and Preston went full puberty on us and gained three inches [in height] and his voice dropped and he started having hair on his face. It would be a real big time jump to keep that crew going, but the idea of looking backwards is really interesting to me.”

In another interview, this time withDecider, Berg suggested that a second season of American Primeval could happen if Indigenous consultant Julie O’Keefe makes a return. In that interview, however, O’Keefe said that she would be willing to come back as long as she won’t have to wear ice cleats again.
In short, while Netflix hasn’t confirmed a renewal at the time of publishing this article, Berg expressed interest in exploring the American Primeval story — with the above conditions.
“You know, after we wrapped and I looked at all the actors — the ones that were still alive — I felt such affection for them,” Berg told the Decider. “And I do think there are many ways that we could go.”
